Amy S. West is a director and sometimes actor. She first worked with FPTC in 2010 as an actor in the one-act play Trapped Inside a Low-fat Twinkie, which was featured in Codes of Conduct, and then again in Hidden Faces of Courage, a co-production with On With Living and Learning. She has a recurring role as Penny Primrose in the web series Beyond The Elaborate Glance by Lafeaux Productions. Find it on YouTube.
In 2019, Amy and Dayenne CB Walters started WaltersWest Project to produce a reimagined Long Day's Journey Into Night by Eugene O'Neill, coming to Hibernian Hall in Roxbury, Mass., in March 2020 and co-produced with FPTC. Directing credits include: Occupant by Edward Albee, at the Aidekman Art Gallery, Tufts University, By The Book by Amy Merrill, Fort Point Theatre Channel, and The Goddess Diaries at the Regent Theatre in Arlington, Mass. Staged readings and festivals with TC Squared Theatre Company; Office of War Information Bureau of Theatre; Open Theater Project/SLAMBoston; Fort Point Theatre Channel’s One-Minute Play Festival and Boston Theatre Marathon XV and XVI. Amy was the driving force behind Contemporary Park Shorts—whose mission was to bring brand new, bare-bones, moveable, and experimental plays to parks and non-traditional spaces. In short two years, they produced three new plays by Rosa Nagle on a smaller than a shoestring budget: October, Ghost Stories, and Tangles in Your Teeth.
