Directions to Midway Studios
15 Channel Center Street
Boston, MA

15 Channel Center Street is an alley parallel to A Street and behind 215 A Street. It is two blocks long, from Binford Street to Iron Street.

If you are using an old map, Channel Center Street was formerly 24-38 Midway Street. It is NOT Channel Street.

The directions on Google Maps seem accurate; those on MapQuest are close but not quite!

Walking:

About 10-15 minutes from South Station, accessible by commuter train, Amtrak, and subway.

Exit the station and take Summer Street AWAY from downtown. Go a block or two and cross Fort Point Channel. Make the first right onto Melcher Street. Take Melcher to A Street (about two blocks). Turn right onto A Street. Go about three blocks to Binford Street and turn left. Go 50 feet to Channel Center Street and turn right. Midway Studios is 15 Channel Center Street, about half way down on the left.

Driving:

From South Station

From South Station, take Summer Street away from downtown Boston and across Fort Point Channel. Immediately after crossing the channel, turn right onto Melcher Street. Take Melcher (which does a 90-degree turn) to A Street. Turn right onto A Street. Park on A Street after passing Binford Street on the left. Walk around the A Street buildings (using Binford, Mt. Washington, or Iron streets) to get to Channel Center Street.

Note: If you miss Melcher Street, make a U-turn or you will be sorry--and perhaps end up a few miles away in Brighton after paying a toll on the Mass Pike.

or

Walking Via Congress Street

Take Congress Street east from downtown Boston. Cross Fort Point Channel on the Congress Street Bridge (pedestrians only during infinite construction) and pass the Children's Museum on your left. At A Street, go right. G down A Street. See above directions.

FREE PARKING is available on A Street. Parking there without a South Boston permit is fine evenings and weekends. There is a pay lot at the corner of A Street and Iron Street, if nothing is available on the street.
